The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a non-profit research and educational institution with a strong scientific and technological orientation, emphasizing international collaborations, cross-disciplinary research, innovation, and post graduate education. CyI, through its established research centres, addresses challenging issues that are important at both the regional and international levels. Many of its research activities are being carried out in partnership with leading institutions in the respective thematic areas.

CyI invites applications for a spatial data specialist, such as an architect, land surveyor or engineer, to work as part of the STARC Centre. The successful candidate will work in the operations of the Portal for hERItage buildingS integration into the COntemPorary built Environment (PERIsCOPE), which aims to design and develop an innovative portal comprised of BIM tools for the identification, classification, documentation and renovation of heritage buildings which can be exploited by a variety of stakeholders related to the conservation and retrofit of heritage buildings.

The portal will integrate the state-of-the-art knowledge in the scientific fields of Building Information Modelling, remote sensing, 3D terrestrial modelling techniques and non-destructive onsite testing, provided by the leading research and academic institutions of Cyprus in these fields


Duties and Responsibilities:

1.                  Collection of building drawings and documentations.

2.                  Collection of GIS data.

3.                  Project administration and reporting.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor degree in one of the following: Surveyor Engineering, Civil Engineering and Geomatics or Architecture
  2. Excellent knowledge of the English and Greek language both verbal and in writing
  3. High level of organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  4. High level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a multicultural environment


Preferred/ Desirable Qualifications and Experience


  1. Experience in project administration will be considered an advantage.
  2. 1-year experience in documentation of built heritage
  3. Knowledge of GIS will be considered an advantage.
