The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit science and technology institution based in Cyprus and led by an acclaimed Board of Trustees. The research aims of the Cyprus Institute are represented by three research centers: the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CASTORC), the Science and Technology in Archaeology Research Center (STARC), and the Energy Environment Water Research Center (EEWRC). Considerable cross-center interaction is a characteristic of the Institute’s culture.
The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a Research Assistant (RA) who will support the project “Mediterranean Palimpsests: Connecting the Art and Architectural Histories of Medieval and Early Modern Cities” (mcities.ac.cy.cy) funded through the Getty Foundation’s Connecting Art Histories Initiative. Specifically, the selected RA will be expected to contribute to the creation, maintenance and management of digital media for the project’s platform and website that will effectively support the “Mediterranean Palimpsests” collaborative network and will ensure its effective integration into CyI’s DIOPTRA: The Edmee Leventis Digital Library for Cypriot Culture. The selected RA will also liaise with and contribute to the management of the network of participants of the project- the platform being a main collaborative tool and will work closely with CyI Digital Media / Libraries experts along with the “Mediterranean Palimpsests” research leaders, coming from a humanities background.

The appointment will be on a full-time basis initially for a fixed term period of one year with the potential of contract renewal depending on performance and availability of funds.
