Job Description

The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a non-profit research and educational institution with a strong scientific and technological orientation, emphasizing international collaborations and cross-disciplinary research and post graduate education. CyI, through its established research centers, addresses challenging issues that are important at both the regional and international levels. Many of its research activities are being carried out in partnership with leading institutions in the respective thematic areas.

The Cyprus Institute invites applications for Intern(s) who will have the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience by supporting the development of Instruments and Experimental Systems for measuring the concentration of Gaseous Air Pollutants and Atmospheric Aerosol Particles. These systems will be employed in field campaigns and laboratory measurements. Apart from these tasks, the role of the Intern(s) will be to assist in the analysis of the measurements and summarize findings in papers and reports.

The Internship(s) will be on a full-time basis for a fixed term of one year.


The successful candidate will be carrying out the following activities

  • Assist in the development/assembly/operation of instruments
  • Assist in analysis of measurements
  • Contribute to the writing of reports and publications
Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Master degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical and/or Chemical and/or Aerospace Engineering
  • Familiarity with online analytical instrumentation
  • Familiarity with programming languages
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and the ability to adapt to a multicultural, multinational environment
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language both verbal and in writing (communication/use).
  • Very Good knowledge of English

Preferred experience

  • Preferred experience in technology-related research laboratories.
